Visiting
Lancaster's Attic is just like going exploring in the attic of
your Grandmothers old house. In the trunks, picture albums and
old newspapers you find bits and pieces of how she and her
family experienced everyday life
For sometime we have been planning a
web site featuring Lancaster from 1799 to 1920. We
realize that no web site could tell the full story, so we
decided to use old newspapers and pictures. This is not
the story just of the rich and famous, but of everyone,
domestic servants, farmers, thieves, firemen, and bakers.
The crew that works on the
attic are not natives of Lancaster. We have either settled
here or work here. This site is intended to be our way of
thanking the city for all it has given us.
The
crew consists of John Albert, our researcher, who has taught
in the Lancaster City Schools for over 20 years and Crissy
Devine of Devine Services, a web design service, located in
Lancaster.
Additional
assistance has been provided by Graphic Designer, Susan
Albert, LHS History Teacher Jim White, many of our images have
been located by the Spring Street Antique Mall in Logan.
We hope you find our efforts useful and entertaining,
if you have suggestions, comments, corrections or wish to *loan
items for inclusion in the attic, please contact us.
